What happens at my first visit?
Your first visit is a Movement Evaluation, about 75 to 90 minutes. We talk through your history and goals, test how you move, measure strength, and screen for anything that needs a different kind of care. You'll get hands-on treatment, a clear explanation of what's going on, and a plan to get you back to what you love.
Do I need a referral from a doctor?
No. You can book directly with us. If you've had imaging or seen other providers, bring whatever you have and we'll factor it in.
Do I have to be an athlete?
Not at all. We work with lifters, runners, and weekend athletes, but also parents, desk workers, and anyone who wants to move without pain. If you have a goal, whether that's a PR or picking up your kids, we'll build toward it.
What should I wear?
Something you can move and train in. Athletic clothes and shoes work best, since we'll be testing movement and getting you working.
Not sure if you can help me?
Book a free discovery call. We'll talk through what's going on and tell you honestly whether we're the right fit. If we're not, we'll point you to someone who is.
Cost & insurance
Do you take insurance?
We're a cash-based practice, so we don't bill insurance directly. That's what lets us give you a full hour, one-on-one, and build care around your goals instead of what a policy approves.
If you have out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.
How much does it cost?
Every plan is built around you, so cost depends on what you need and how long it takes to get you there. After your evaluation, we'll walk you through your options and pricing so you know exactly what to expect. No surprises.
Have questions before then? Book a free discovery call and we'll go over it with you.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on what's going on and where you want to get back to. Care plans run 6, 12, or 20 weeks, and we'll recommend one based on your evaluation, not a one-size-fits-all number.
Your care
How long are sessions?
Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, one-on-one with Dr. Carlos the whole time. No hand-offs, no sharing your session with three other patients.
Is this just adjustments?
No. Adjustments and hands-on work are tools we use when they help, mostly to calm things down. The lasting change comes from strength and movement work that builds up what your body can handle.
Will I get exercises to do at home?
Yes. Every patient gets programming between visits, built around your schedule and equipment. Your progress doesn't stop when you leave the office.
Can I keep training while I rehab?
In most cases, yes. Rest alone rarely fixes the problem. We'll adjust your training so you can keep moving while we rebuild, instead of telling you to stop everything.
¿Hablan español?
Sí. Ofrecemos toda la atención en español. Same care, either language.
Where are you located?
961 Marina Way S, Suite H, Richmond, CA 94804. We serve Richmond and the greater East Bay.
